The Florida Panthers' Stanley Cup pursuit has been hindered by injuries, but there's a glimmer of hope on the horizon. According to a recent update, the team could welcome back three key players, Tomas Nosek, Dmitry Kulikov, and Jonah Gadjovich, just after the Olympic break. This trio is expected to return in early March, with each player projected to miss only a game or two before rejoining the lineup. Head coach Paul Maurice shared insights into their recovery process, emphasizing the need for a gradual return to full contact. He mentioned that they'll start with non-contact practices this week, with a potential return around the Toronto game on February 26th. If all goes well, they'll be back on the road trip, providing a much-needed boost to the team's depth.
Nosek, who suffered a severe knee injury during the offseason, has been sidelined for the entire 2025-26 season. His previous season with the Panthers was promising, contributing one goal and nine points in 59 games. Kulikov, on the other hand, has battled a torn labrum since early October, limiting him to just two games this season. Despite his age, the 35-year-old has been a valuable asset in his previous two years with the team, accumulating five goals and 33 points in 146 games. Gadjovich, who also underwent surgery, has played in only 10 games this year, mirroring Kulikov's absence.
While these returns won't transform the Panthers into a dominant force overnight, they will significantly enhance the team's depth. With a depleted lineup, the Panthers have relied on 28 players this season, and eight are currently injured. The addition of these three players, along with potential deadline moves, could be pivotal in their push toward the postseason.
